What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards except American Express. You must provide us with a full address and the telephone number of the address that the card is registered to. We also accept cheques. Goods will not be dispatched until we receive payment in full and it has cleared.
Can I tile on a wooden floor?
Yes. Please contact us for advise on the preparation required.
Are the tiles in stock?
Yes. The majority of our tiles are stock items. Please allow one to three weeks for delivery of goods currently out of stock.
If I supply the measurements can you calculate the area for me?
We can calculate the area for you but we can only work off the measurements supplied.
Can I collect from your warehouse?
You can collect direct from our warehouse. Please inform us if you wish to do this.
Are all tiles suitable for walls and floors?
Not all tiles are suitable for both walls and floors. Porcelain tiles are suitable for both applications but some ceramic tiles are not suitable for floors. Product descriptions will indicate this but please contact us if you have any doubts.
Whats the difference between porcelain and ceramic tiles?
Porcelain tiles are fired at a very high temperature and are much harder than ceramic tiles.They have a much lower water absorption rate. Porcelain tiles also have a high resistance to frost, abrasions and chemicals.
Can I tile over existing tiles?
Yes. Please contact us for advice.
Can your tilers fit tiles I have purchased else where?
No. Our tilers can only fit tiles purchased from Shades Tiles.
Do tiles have different shades?
Yes. Like batches of paint tiles also have shade codes which relate to their production. Always ensure you order enough tiles for the job required as mixing batches of tiles can lead to variations in shades.
